SUPPORTING CHILDREN

Preparing your child for a conversation about his/her current status.

Treatment changes the life of the child and parents and caregivers. Sadness and fear, confusion or even anger, pain, despair, despair accompany them after a traumatic event, surgery, during treatment, etc.

The Child Will Ask:

  • «What will it be like at school/kindergarten?»
  •
  • «Will I be able to do my favorite thing?»
  •
  • «Will I be able to play with other children?»
  •
  • «What if I get teased?»
  •
  • «What will my friends/siblings/other family members say about me?»

  • Parents and caregivers will look for ways to cope with the situation, prepare the child for a conversation, and answer questions that confuse them.

There will not be resolution for everything at once, and this is natural.

The main thing is that you are there for them and are always ready to do whatever is needed.
